Hosting the Society of Authors Awards and Summer Party

t was an honour and a pleasure to return as host of the The Society of Authors Annual Awards and Summer Party at Southwark Cathedral.

These awards are one of my favourite evenings of the year, there’s always so much love in the room. Stories are at the heart of our shared human existence, and what a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate authors, illustrators, translators, librettists, poets and everyone who champions this fantastic work.

There was so much warmth, generosity and joy in the room. Big congratulations to all the nominees, runners-up and winners alongside so many people dedicated to words and creativity.

It was wonderful to share the stage with Society of Authors Chair Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin, the Very Reverend Dr Mark Oakley and Cerrie Burnell, whose words, wisdom and reflections made the evening all the more magical.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making the SoA Awards and Summer Party a success and thank you to the Society of Authors team for bringing us all together.
